Le Vieux Village s Scarlet Red Hanbel Hot on Sale

Description
This Hanbel was woven by the artisans of Association Le Vieux Village.
This beautiful collective of women artisans reside just outside of Tazenakht. Fatima, pictured, is one of the senior members of the collective.
This style is called Hanbel. It’s woven with sheep’s wool from the local market. The colors are created with natural ingredients like henna, pomegranate, saffron, indigo, alfalfa and mint.
While the majority of the weave is flat, the designs have a slightly higher pile, giving this piece texture and dimension.
Every design element comes entirely from the artisan’s imagination – the symbols within this rug depict protection from evil, strength, beauty and respect just to name a few.Â
